The Cottage Place on Squam Lake is situated on the shores of pristine Little Squam Lake, in the town of Holderness, NH, in the foothills of the spectacular White Mountains - only 3.5 miles east of Exit 24 on Interstate 93. 

Our vacation rentals include seven cottages, one six-bedroom lodge, and eight cottage suites all of which offer year-round access to Squam Lake, one of the most beautiful and untouched lakes in the country. 

The Cottage Place is landscaped with vintage stone walls, seasonal gardens and a private 140 foot sandy beach on Little Squam Lake, directly across the street from the cottages and cottage suites. On the lakeshore, just in front of the vacation rentals, is a large dock that is available for rental by guests with their own boats.

We specialize in vacation rentals which provide warm hospitality, year-round. Our guests are nature lovers, fishermen, hikers, hunters, snowmobilers, skiers, paddlers, moose and loon watchers, and outdoor enthusiasts of all description.

The area is blessed with many wonderful restaurants from fine to family dining, and activities to meet every visitor's needs.

The Lodge

This is a six bedroom lodge with two bathrooms, large living room with a fieldstone fireplace, kitchen with full size appliances, two farm style dining tables and dishware for 16 people.  There are 7 double beds and one twin bed, so you can vacation with the whole family or combine two or more families. 

This is an excellent 'special occasion' rental--a great celebration spot.  Most recently we hosted a 50th birthday party. 
Please note: There is always a two night minimum with our Lodge rental.

Our Cottages

Our cottages, cottage suites and Lodge all give you immediate access to Little Squam Lake. You can spend your time enjoying your comfortable rooms, sit on your deck and listen to the loons, hang out down at the beach, take off in one of our boat rentals or your own boat, enjoy the common areas which include a gift shop, coffee shop and lobby with a cozy wood-burning stove. 

You will always be just yards from the water, admiring the close-up view of Little Squam Lake and the White Mountains! Take a stroll around our lovely grounds and wander among the cottage gardens.

Cottage Suites

 The eight "Cottage Suites" are part of the main building at The Cottage Place. Similar to our independent cottages, the Cottage Suites all have separate entrances at the front of the building, facing Evans Cove on Little Squam lake. These suites were architecturally designed after our cottages with large picture windows overlooking the lake.

In each Cottage Suite, there are two adjoining rooms--one a living area and one room offering a variety of sleeping options including double, queen, and twin beds. All units are air-conditioned and offer cable TV, a kitchen, dining area, and full bathroom with tub and shower.

Guest Information
  • Advance non-refundable deposit is required: 
  • weekly reservations = 50 %
  • multi night reservations = 50 %
  • one night reservation = paid in advance 
  • Cancellation after deposit is made is subject to 10% fee - cancellation within 30 days of arrival is subject to 25% fee - The entire balance will be billed if there is no advance notice of cancellation.
  • There will be no refunds for early check-out
  • Housekeeping properties are clean and orderly when you arrive. You are expected to do minimal chores to keep your rental clean - primarily dishes and trash removal - for your convenience there is a dumpster on the property 
  • Bath and bed linens are provided - one towel for each guest - bring extras from home if you think you'll need them 
  • There is strictly no smoking inside any of our cottages or suites

Pet Rules
  • Only well-mannered, friendly pets allowed
  • Pets must be leashed at all times
  • Pets may not be tied to any Cottage Place property (porch railings, picnic tables,  adirondack chairs, etc
  • Pets may not be left unattended, inside or out, at any time
  • All poop must be scooped and placed in the dumpster
  • Be considerate of all others in regards to jumping, shaking, barking
  • If there is a problem with a pet, we will recommend our local well respected kennel for the remainder of your stay
  • $20.00 per day, per pet
