This historic, gracious bed and breakfast retreat is an excellent example of a classic Charleston single house. Possibly given to Mary Scott in the early 1800’s as part of her dowry, it provides an ideal location from which to explore Charleston. Located in the city’s historic Ansonborough district, it is within minutes’ walking distance of King Street’s antiques and shops, the Market area, many outstanding restaurants, house museusms,the National Park Service’s boats to Ft. Sumter and the aquarium.

 Some suites in this historic home have their original operating fireplaces for romantic winter evenings and several still have original hardwood floors. Free, secure off-street parking is a very welcome amenity. Internet access is available in the main house living room along with wireless Internet access to guests whom have a wireless ready laptop.

The owners’ collection of antique furniture and linens mixed with period reproductions and oriental rugs graciously compliment this historic home.

Guest Rooms
Guests in the main house are also treated to a full Southern breakfast in the dining room each morning, while those in the Kitchen and Carriage Houses are provided with generous continental breakfasts. 

All suites have private baths with mini-refrigerators or complete kitchens as well as central heat and air and cable television. Wireless internet service is available. 

Each suite has or has access to its own piazza over looking the garden.


Lower Carriage House
This Suite is located just to the rear of the main house offers guests an intimate retreat. Along with its private entrance, the suite consists of a fully equipped kitchen, sitting room with cable TV and floor lamps, and  bath with tub and shower. 

The bedroom has a queen-sized iron bed.Guests are served generous continental breakfasts the room.

Features 12-foot ceilings and original fireplace.  A queen-sized four poster mahogany bed, modern entertainment center, and oriental rugs complete the bedroom. The dramatic bath features a whirlpool tub, spacious shower and double sinks. The charming sitting room provides a quiet nook to curl up with a book from the owners’ collection or for quiet contemplation.

Getting Here
Coming from the North via Interstate 95: Travel I-95 South to I-26 East to Charleston. Take final exit marked “Meeting Street Visitors’ Center. This will put you onto Meeting Street heading south. Travel on Meeting Street south past the Visitors’ Center on right. (George Street is three traffic signals from the Visitors’ Center.) Cross Calhoun Street. The next light is George Street. Turn left. Fantasia is the first house on the right, Number 11 George Street. Turn in between columns and park at end of drive in designated space.

Coming from the South via US 17 North:
Follow 17 North through the west side of town.
Go over the Ashley River Bridge and immediately get in right hand lane and take Lockwood Blvd. SOUTH. Then get in left lane and take first left exit marked Calhoun Street . Turn right onto Calhoun going east. Count nine traffic lights to Meeting Street. Turn right onto Meeting. The next light is George Street. Turn left on George. Fantasia is the first house on the right, Number 11 George Street. Turn in between columns and park at end of drive in designated space.

Coming from the North via US 17 South: Take 17 South past I-526 1 mile to Charleston exit. Take this by-pass to old Grace Memorial Bridge. Follow Meeting Street exit to Meeting Street, headed south. (After you pass the Visitors’ Center on your right, George Street is three traffic signals from the Visitors’ Center.) Cross Calhoun Street. The next light is George Street. Turn left. Fantasia is the first house on the right, Number 11 George Street. Turn in between columns and park at end of drive in designated space.

Coming from the Charleston Airport: Take I-526 towards Charleston, approximately 1/4 mile. Exit onto I-26 East to Charleston and exit onto the Visitors” Center exit. Turn RIGHT off exit. Travel on Meeting Street south past the Visitors’ Center on right. (George Street is three traffic signals from it.) Turn left on George Street and Fantasia is the first house on the right,Number 11 George Turn in between columns and park at end of drive in designated space.
