Choose lodging at our North Shore bed and breakfast. You will be welcomed at the front door, pampered with comfortable accommodations, enjoy luxurious amenities and local attractions during your Duluth, Minnesota vacation. 

Every morning your sumptuous, full breakfast is delivered to your suite in a basket and may be eaten on your dining table next to the fireplace or on an outdoor deck overlooking Oregon Creek. We would be glad to serve you at the dining room table or front porch if you choose. Your breakfast may include Savory Croissant Breakfast Pudding, Banana Crumble, fresh fruit, Apple Muffins, Pecan Coffeecake, orange juice, Alakef Coffee, and Stash Premium teas.

Increase your overall feeling of well-being, and reduce stress and tension with a massage in our Woodland Spa at The Firelight Inn. A certified Massage Therapist is available for relaxation massage by appointment. Just take a walk down the stairs or hallway in your Firelight bathrobe for a wonderful massage.

Later, imagine yourself relaxing in the 1000 square foot glass porch of the home filled with comfortable wicker furniture, overstuffed pillows, plants, books and magazines, games, puzzles and chess board, fireplace, and great views.  Sit back and listen to the babbling creek as it flows to Lake Superior.

You may find yourself enjoying soft, soothing music flowing from our baby grand piano in the living room. You may relax in the Firelight Room and read the morning paper or The Firelight Inn scrapbook. The solitude of our secluded property is the perfect setting for your romantic retreat!

You will see the recently remodeled kitchen on your welcome tour.  Sampling a warm, fresh baked cookie is a great way to begin your stay.  Your stay includes the services of the innkeepers to assist in making your stay a treasured memory.   Let the warmth of the firelight surround you!

Guest Suites


Brookside Suite

The Brookside Suite with three large windows overlooks Oregon Creek from the second floor with access to a small outside deck. The elegant suite offers a king-size cherry four-poster bed, loveseat positioned in front of the fireplace, state-of-the-art air conditioning, rocking chair, gas fireplace, entertainment center with TV/VCR/DVD, audio system and CD player. The private bathroom includes a historic pedestal sink and a two-person corner Jacuzzi whirlpool with a showerhead, surrounded with limestone.


Barnum Suite
Our most historic suite features a massive ornate carved fireplace. The suite is located on the second floor in the front of the home with access to a small outside deck overlooking Oregon Creek. The suite features a king-size, cherry canopy bed intertwined with silk roses and ribbon, matching love seat, large dressing room with original sliding mirrored doors, state-of-the-art air conditioning, and an entertainment center with TV/VCR/DVD, audio system and CD player. The private bathroom includes a two-person Jacuzzi whirlpool with a showerhead and a pedestal sink.

Isle Royale Suite

  The Isle Royale Suite on the second floor features unique and original architectural detail including the original eight-piece crown molding and plate rail. The suite is both cozy and romantic and offers a queen-size brass bed, private bathroom with shower, a luxurious double whirlpool for two across from the gas fireplace, upholstered chaise lounge chair, state-of-the-art air conditioning and TV/VCR/DVD, audio system and CD player.


Superior Suite
The Superior Suite (two-room suite) located on the third floor offers a king-size iron bed, a two-person, corner Jacuzzi whirlpool surrounded in black granite and not far from the fireplace, private bathroom with shower, state-of-the-art air conditioning, CD player and audio system. The skylight in the Superior Suite opens, connects to the spiral fire escape and provides wonderful views of Duluth's Harbor and Lake Superior. French doors adjoin a sitting room including a comfortable loveseat, rocking chair, entertainment center with TV/VCR/DVD, antique armoire, skylight, a small refrigerator and a bar sink. This suite exemplifies luxury at its finest!

Northwoods Suite

The Northwoods Suite is located on the third floor featuring a unique Up North decor. The room's skylight opens and connects to the spiral fire escape and offers great views of Duluth's Harbor and Lake Superior. The cozy suite offers a queen-size brass bed, easy chair with ottoman, state-of-the-art air conditioning, a gas fireplace with granite tiles from Central Minnesota, TV/VCR/DVD, CD player and audio system and private bathroom. A Jacuzzi whirlpool for two with a showerhead makes this suite romantic and comfortable.

Sumptuous Breakfasts
Our specialty of delivering your full breakfast to the privacy of your suite includes a delicious hot entrée on china under stainless steel plate covers, a dish or goblet of seasonal fruit, a basket of warm sweet breads and fresh muffins, a pot of freshly ground Alakef coffee or a pot of hot water with a selection of premium teas, fruit juice, silverware, cloth napkins and placements, salt and pepper and cream and sugar. A carafe of milk will be included upon request. Everything is  presented in a wicker basket at your door between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.
Massage


Pampering yourself and your loved one with a couples massage package in our Woodland Suite spa is the perfect way to enhance your romantic weekend getaway, honeymoon, or anniversary celebration. A Romance Each Day Package is also a wonderful way to show your loved one how much they mean to you.

Thalassotherapy (n.) the use of sea products in body treatments. The skin is the body's largest organ, second in complexity only to the brain. Pamper the skin you're in with a detoxifying seaweed wrap with Lotus Touch® Klamath Blue-Green Algae. Relax while nutrients from the sea nourish your skin and chlorophyll detoxifies. French Green Clay and Lavender essential oils provide a deep-cleaning action and draw out impurities. Massage following the wrap further relaxes you and tones the skin by stimulating circulation. 90 minute treatment includes seaweed wrap followed by a relaxation massage.

Ever wish your partner was a massage therapist? In the Couples Massage Package, you and your partner will explore the science behind massage therapy and learn some professional massage techniques you can do at home. The two hour package includes a 40 minute demonstration session, a "Massage for Couples" pamphlet of 'the basics' to take home, and two 40 minute massages.

Massage therapists are available by appointment. The charge is $95 for a one hour massage, $130 for a 90 minute massage or $145 for two 45 minute massages. Hot stone massage therapy is available for one hour for $115. A 90 Minute Seaweed Wrap with relaxation massage is $145. Two Hour Couples Massage Package is $195.

Firelight BabyMoon Package $229
Before your baby is born, getaway to The Firelight Inn for a memorable and restful Babymoon experience together.  Mom and Dad-to-be each will be pampered with one-hour relaxation massages.  We deliver a Minnesota Wild Rice and Ham soup supper with fresh bread and Sparkling Apple Juice to your suite.  Finally, we deliver ice cream and a Firelight Babymoon Basket including a candle, bath brush, soap, cookie stamp and chocolates.
