We are a remote, full service fishing lodge located off the coast of Ketchikan, Alaska, a convenient 90-minutes from Seattle. Once arriving at Ketchikan guests are picked up at the Ketchikan Airport by a floatplane for a scenic 20 minute flight to Saltery Cove on Prince of Wales Island. This is a real treat and is included! Sportsman's Cove Lodge offers great fishing for king salmon, coho salmon, halibut and cod. After fishing come browse our Otter Gift Shoppe, relax in our 10-man hot tub or share fishing stories in our lounge.

Our staff of 25 clean-cut, eager-to-please individuals are carefully handpicked, and share my service philosophy and love for Alaska. You couldn't ask for a more friendly, hospitable team to host you on a memorable fishing adventure. These people really care about your happiness, and they love what they're doing.

Guest Rooms

Most rooms at Sportsman's Cove Lodge are double occupancy and have water views. The views are breathtaking, as you're perched among the towering evergreens eye-level with the eagles, looking down on the tranquil waters of the cove. All rooms are spotless and offer private baths and daily maid service. The lodge can accommodate up to 30 guests.

This is a bad week to start your diet! Our Alaskan homestyle chef highlights the menu with fresh, locally-caught seafood and homemade breads and desserts. Our Custom Boats

You'll spend the majority of your fishing vacation aboard a boat, so it makes sense that you'll want to maximize your comfort and safety. The niche at Sportsman's Cove has always been bigger, more comfortable, safer boats. Larry McQuarrie spent years designing these 37-foot sport fishers, and has them custom-built just for Sportsman's Cove Lodge.

Sample 3 Full Day Fishing Package

Day One: Leave Seattle and arrive in Ketchikan, Alaska. Floatplane picks you up for a breathtaking 20-minute flight to Sportsman's Cove Lodge. Our staff will greet you upon arrival and get you settled into your rooms after check-in. A hearty dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. After dinner, orientation and welcome by lodge manager.

Fishing Day: Prior to breakfast, customize your lunch from our huge spread. Breakfast is served at 6:00 a.m. Dine with your Captain and plan your fishing strategy. Board your boat and head out to the fishing grounds for a full day of Southeast Alaska's finest sportfishing. Dinner is served back at the lodge around 6:00 p.m. Optional Activities after fishing: Beverages and fish stories in the lounge, take out your own 14' aluminum boat, hike up to the lake or up the mountain behind the lodge, soak in the hot tub, watch movies, browse in the gift shop, or enjoy a beverage and take in the fresh air and spectacular view out on the deck.

Fishing Day: Full day of guided sportfishing. After dinner, enjoy an evening cruise up McKenzie inlet, where you'll scout for bear, deer, eagles, otters, and other wildlife.

Fishing Day: Full day guided sportfishing. After your day of fishing your floatplane will pick you up at our dock around 5:15 p.m. for your trip back to Ketchikan and connecting flights south.
