| If your pleasure
in traveling is to visit the past, the Old Hunter Road Stagecoach Stop
Bed and Breakfast, redolent of early Texas, is the place to stay.
Lovingly resorted
to its original design, this historic homestead is thought to be Bonito,
a Stagecoach Stop and one time post office of the settlement known as Stringtown.
Here you will find another era as you pass through the doors of the Log
Pen Cabins which were erected in 1848. Warmly decorated cedar beamed rooms
fragrant with the scent of herbs hold a wealth of antiques. Each room features
a private bath, separate tile showers and tubs from the clawfooted to the
jacuzzi.
Gourmet breakfast
with your needs in mind are served in the sunny enclosed back porch of
the main house. Our entrees might include fresh fruit, homemade breads,
organic eggs from a local farm, New Braunfels sausage, peppered bacon or
our speciality Belgium waffles served with mounds of whipped cream and
strawberries.
This is the
ideal spot for travelers desiring a picturesque landscape in which to enjoy
gardens of antique roses, fruit trees, herbs and Texas native plants.
The Innkeeper,
a landscape designer, welcomes you personally to this little bit of heaven
redolent of early Texas. |
