About Sylvia
Sylvia Henderson runs a business called Springboard Training. She conducts programs for organizations that want more effective leaders and for decision-makers who want better outcomes. She facilitates workshops and conference general sessions, keynotes, develops educational tools, and authors books and program-related articles.

Sylvia integrates principles of adult learning into her programs by actively engaging audiences in the learning process. She  uses toys and props to generate interest and emphasize points. She weaves her avocation as a motorcyclist into analogies and metaphors that tie into messages targeting your needs.

Sylvia’s real-world experiences include 20+ years as a corporate trainer, team leader and manager practicing the leadership, communication and motivational skills she now presents in her programs. She serves on several Boards of  Directors and is President of a national non-profit association.

Sylvia is a life member of the Girl Scouts of the USA and serves as a local (DC area) and nationally-certified volunteer trainer. She is a professional member of the National Speakers Association; a Toastmasters club officer, a member of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), and active in her local Chamber of Commerce.

Sylvia is a nationally recognized presenter and skilled, engaging education program facilitator for both small and large audiences. She is energetic, motivating, and provides audiences an interactive experience in her programs. She makes liberal use of visuals and training tools and provides handouts for participant notes and reference. Her speaking programs combine her avocation and passion for motorcycles with life-balance principles. 

Ms. Henderson's corporate experience includes IBM, Loral Federal Systems, Lockheed-Martin, America Online, and American Management Systems (AMS).

Sylvia is a published author on communication, leadership, motivation, and motorcycle-related topics. She has been featured in and writes for magazines and newspapers and interviewed as the featured guest on radio programs.

Sylvia posts articles on her web site. She also develops and compiles educational tools which you are welcome to use for your own personal development or in your organization’s publications (with permission request by e-mail).

Sylvia conducts programs for organizations that want their people to communicate more clearly, lead more effectively, and be motivated to succeed personally and professionally.  She develops programs to meet your specific needs.

Sylvia encourages and facilitates audience participation in her programs and includes tools to support experiential learning.  Supporting reference materials are integral program components that add take-home value beyond her actual programs.
